CREATIVE LIGHTING WORKSHOP SERIES 1
DATES & TIME:
- MELBOURNE: April 19th 2025 Saturday 10AM - 6PM - 5 spots available
PURPOSE:
The workshop will introduce participants to creative lighting portrait techniques, how to execute certain techniques to set mood and effect. Participants will each have time to practice the technique on a model and find their own style with each technique. Creative lighting is highly experimental and very explorative.
POTENTIAL TECHNIQUES COVERED:
- Shutter drag
- Light painting
- Special effects
- Using colours and projections
- Multiple exposure
SCHEDULE:
- 10AM - 11AM | Introduction to creative lighting / Refresh on studio knowledge
- 11AM - 1PM | Technique 1
- 1PM - 2PM | Lunch
- 2PM - 4PM | Technique 2
- 4PM - 5PM | Exploring and expanding each technique
- 5PM - 6PM | Colour grading & debrief

SKILL LEVEL:
INTERMEDIATE - ADVANCE
This workshop is for intermediate - advance level photographers. It is recommended that you know how to use manual mode on your camera and have a basic understanding of strobe and continuous lighting.
EQUIPMENT:
Mirrorless / DSLR camera
Lighting equipment will be supplied for use during the workshop.
REFUND
Full refund will provided if notified more than 14 days prior to workshop day. Non-attendance does not qualify for a full refund (regardless of circumstances). 80% of the price will be refunded if participant cancels less than 14 days prior to workshop in Melbourne.
CANCELLATION
In the case of instructor illness or insufficient enrolments, a full refund is issued. Minimum 2 people for workshops to run. Numbers will be confirmed 7 days prior to workshop.
STUDIO LIGHTING PHOTOGRAPHY WORKSHOP

PURPOSE:
The workshop will introduce attendees to the basics of using strobe lighting. Participants will explore techniques for photographing people in a studio setting.
TOPICS INCLUDE:
- Equipment
- Terminologies: direct, diffused etc.
- Controlling and setting up lights
- Techniques for particular effects and mood

This is a beginner -intermediate level workshop. It is recommended you know how to use manual mode with your camera.

PRIVATE PHOTOGRAPHY WORKSHOP / CONSULTATION

PURPOSE:
The private workshop / consultation offers a customisable one-on-one learning experience for photographers looking to learn or up-skill in different areas of studio lighting; whether to refine basic lighting techniques or pick up the basics of creative studio lighting. Additionally, you can also request to include time towards learning how to photography movement / dancers as well.
